Game Console Repairs in Northmead

PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and handheld console repairs…diagnosed properly, repaired carefully, and tested before return.

Game Console Repairs in Northmead

Game consoles are not throwaway devices. A failed HDMI port, charging socket, power fault, fan issue or damaged board does not always mean the console is dead.

At Norgan Technology, we repair game consoles with the same diagnostic approach we use for laptops and electronics: inspect the fault, trace the cause, repair where practical, and avoid replacing parts blindly.

We work on modern consoles including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and selected handheld gaming devices. For console-specific repairs, we also work with a trusted specialist repair partner so customers get both strong electronics diagnostics and console-focused repair experience.

If your console has stopped displaying, stopped charging, overheats, shuts down, has liquid damage, or has a damaged port, bring it in for assessment.

Common game console faults we repair

HDMI port repairs

A damaged HDMI port is one of the most common console faults, especially on PS5, PS4 and Xbox consoles.

Symptoms can include:

  • No signal on the TV
  • Flickering display
  • Console powers on but shows no image
  • HDMI cable feels loose
  • Bent or broken HDMI pins
  • Damage after the console was moved while plugged in

HDMI repairs need proper soldering, board inspection and testing. A bad HDMI job can rip pads, damage traces or create a worse fault than the original problem.

We inspect the HDMI port, surrounding components, filters, retimers and board condition before calling the repair complete.

USB-C charging port repairs

Nintendo Switch consoles commonly fail around the USB-C charging port, especially after rough cable use, damaged docks, cheap chargers or impact damage.

Symptoms can include:

  • Switch does not charge
  • Switch only charges at a certain angle
  • Dock does not detect the console
  • Battery appears dead
  • Console shows no signs of life
  • USB-C port looks loose or damaged

A Switch USB-C repair is not just “swap the socket and hope”. The charging circuit, M92T36, BQ charging IC, filters, protection components and board condition may also need checking.

That is where proper diagnostics matter.

No power faults

If your console will not turn on, the cause may be simple — or it may be a board-level fault.

Possible causes include:

  • Failed power supply
  • Shorted power rail
  • Damaged charging circuit
  • Liquid damage
  • Failed capacitors or MOSFETs
  • Damaged USB-C or HDMI circuitry
  • Internal board fault

We diagnose no-power faults systematically instead of guessing.

Overheating and loud fan repairs

If your console sounds like a jet engine, shuts down during games, or warns about overheating, it may need internal servicing.

Common causes include:

  • Dust-clogged heatsinks
  • Dried thermal compound
  • Poor airflow
  • Fan failure
  • Liquid metal issues on PS5
  • Internal contamination
  • Previous poor repair work

We clean, inspect and service consoles properly. For PS5 units, liquid metal handling must be done carefully to avoid causing more damage.

Liquid damage repairs

Liquid damage can affect HDMI, USB-C, power circuits, buttons, display output, storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and internal connectors.

Do not keep trying to power on a liquid-damaged console. That can turn a repairable board into a dead one.

We inspect the board, identify corrosion, clean affected areas and test the affected circuits. Not every liquid-damaged console is repairable, but early assessment gives the best chance.

Controller and accessory faults

We may assess selected controller and accessory repairs, including:

  • Stick drift
  • Button issues
  • Charging faults
  • Battery issues
  • Damaged ports
  • Connection faults

For low-cost accessories, replacement may be more economical. We will tell you straight if repair does not make sense.

Why choose Norgan Technology for console repairs?

Most console repair failures come from the same issue: people treat the fault as obvious before they have proven it.

A console with no display might have a damaged HDMI port. It might also have a damaged HDMI retimer, filter, trace, power issue, or board damage from a previous repair.

A Switch that will not charge might have a bad USB-C port. It might also have a charging IC fault, shorted rail, battery fault, damaged dock circuit or liquid damage.

We approach console repair as electronics repair.

That means:

  • Proper inspection before repair
  • Microsoldering capability
  • Board-level diagnostic thinking
  • Thermal and electrical fault finding
  • Honest repair viability assessment
  • Careful testing before return
  • Clear advice when replacement is smarter

We are not an authorised Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo service centre. We are an independent repair business focused on practical, careful repair of real-world faults.

Repair process

1. Bring in or book the console

Tell us the model, what happened, and what symptoms you are seeing. Photos can help if the port or casing is visibly damaged.

2. Initial assessment

We inspect the console and identify the most likely fault path. For simple faults, we may be able to quote quickly. For board-level faults, diagnostics may be required.

3. Repair quote

We explain what needs doing, whether parts are required, and whether the repair is worth it.

4. Repair and testing

Once approved, we complete the repair and test the console properly before return.

5. Straight advice

If the repair does not make economic sense, we will tell you. Some consoles are worth repairing. Some are better used for parts or replaced.

Console repairs we want to be known for

We are especially interested in faults that other repairers avoid, including:

  • PS5 HDMI repairs
  • Xbox HDMI repairs
  • Nintendo Switch USB-C charging faults
  • Switch no-power diagnosis
  • Board-level console faults
  • Liquid damaged consoles
  • Failed previous repairs
  • Consoles where another shop has said “not repairable”

That does not mean everything can be saved. It means we are willing to investigate properly.

Service areas

We are based in Northmead and service customers across:

  • Parramatta
  • The Hills District
  • Baulkham Hills
  • Winston Hills
  • Castle Hill
  • Seven Hills
  • Blacktown
  • Westmead
  • North Parramatta
  • Greater Western Sydney

Customers can also contact us before bringing a console in so we can confirm whether the fault is suitable for assessment.

Before bringing your console in

Where possible, bring:

  • The console
  • Power cable
  • HDMI cable if relevant
  • Dock for Nintendo Switch issues
  • Controller if needed for testing
  • Any error details or photos of the fault

For liquid damage, do not power it on again. Bring it in as-is.

For HDMI or USB-C damage, avoid repeatedly plugging cables in to “test it again”. That can make the damage worse.

FAQ section

Do you repair PS5 HDMI ports?

Yes. We repair damaged PS5 HDMI ports and inspect the surrounding HDMI circuit to make sure the fault is not deeper than the socket itself.

Do you repair Xbox HDMI ports?

Yes. We repair HDMI faults on Xbox Series X, Series S and Xbox One models, depending on board condition and parts availability.

Do you repair Nintendo Switch charging ports?

Yes. We repair Nintendo Switch USB-C charging ports and diagnose related charging faults, including dock detection and no-power issues.

My console turns on but has no picture. Is it always the HDMI port?

No. It may be the HDMI port, but it can also be the HDMI retimer, filters, traces, board damage, power fault or a previous poor repair. It needs inspection.

Can you repair liquid-damaged consoles?

Sometimes. Liquid damage depends on how badly the board and components have been affected. Stop powering it on and bring it in for assessment.

Do you fix stick drift?

We may assess controller stick drift repairs, but for some controllers replacement may be more economical. We will advise honestly.

Are you authorised by Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo?

No. We are an independent repair business. We repair consoles outside the manufacturer repair system where practical.

Is every console repair worth doing?

No. Some repairs are worthwhile, especially ports, charging faults and certain board-level issues. Others may not be economical. We will tell you before proceeding.
