Your rights and protections, and what to expect from Norgan Technology

1. Australian Consumer Law

At Norgan Technology, all goods and services are provided in accordance with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies rights you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or other applicable laws.

Customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, or other remedy where products or services fail to meet consumer guarantees under Australian law.

2. Repair Services

Electronics repair involves diagnosis, testing, labour, and component-level work on devices that may already be faulty, damaged, liquid affected, modified, or partially non-functional.

By engaging Norgan Technology, you acknowledge that:

  • diagnostics and labour charges may apply even if a repair is unsuccessful
  • some faults may only become apparent during disassembly or testing
  • some devices may have pre-existing damage or prior repair attempts
  • repair success cannot always be guaranteed due to the condition or design of modern electronics

Where possible, estimates and approvals will be provided before major work is undertaken.

3. Diagnostic Fees

Diagnostic fees are generally non-refundable once diagnostic work has commenced.

This is because time, testing, equipment usage, and technical labour are consumed during the fault-finding process regardless of repair outcome.

If a repair proceeds, diagnostic fees may be partially or fully credited toward the final repair cost at our discretion.

4. Refurbished & Used Products

Refurbished, repaired, and used devices sold by Norgan Technology are tested prior to sale unless otherwise stated.

Used electronics may show cosmetic wear, battery degradation, or age-related characteristics consistent with second-hand equipment.

Any known significant defects or limitations will be disclosed where reasonably possible.

Consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law continue to apply.

5. Change of Mind Returns

We do not generally offer refunds for change of mind on:

  • repair services
  • special-order parts
  • opened software or digital products
  • custom-configured items
  • used/refurbished electronics sold as described

At our discretion, unopened new retail items may be eligible for return within 14 days of purchase, provided:

  • the item is unused
  • packaging is intact
  • proof of purchase is provided

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

6. Parts & Components

Electronic parts and components installed during repairs may be:

  • new
  • refurbished
  • aftermarket
  • donor/reclaimed components

depending on availability, repair economics, and customer approval.

Where specific parts are requested, compatibility and availability may vary.

7. Data & Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for maintaining backups of important data before submitting devices for repair.

While care is taken during all service work:

  • data loss can occur during diagnostics or repair
  • storage devices may already be unstable or failing
  • operating system reinstalls or firmware work may require data erasure

Norgan Technology is not responsible for loss of data, software, accounts, or business interruption arising from device failure or repair processes unless required by law.

8. Warranty on Repairs

Warranty coverage varies depending on:

  • the type of repair
  • device condition
  • parts availability
  • presence of liquid damage or board corrosion

Warranty terms will be communicated at the time of service where applicable.

Warranty does not cover:

  • accidental damage
  • liquid damage after repair
  • unrelated faults
  • software issues caused by third-party modification
  • damage caused by misuse, overheating, impact, or unauthorised repair attempts

9. Return Shipping & Collections

Customers are responsible for arranging collection of completed repairs unless otherwise agreed.

Devices not collected within a reasonable period may incur storage fees where permitted by law.

Shipping risk transfers to the customer once an item has been lodged with the shipping carrier unless otherwise required under ACL.
